Company details
We are the Spanish Federation of Healthcare Technology Companies, the association that represents national and worldwide the interests of more than 1.200 healthcare technology companies integrating this sector in Spain. In FENIN, we represent a sector which exports more than 2,2 billion €. We spread the values and interests of the Spanish healthcare technology companies. With an actively work in the development of a plan of export sector, giving a deep training and information about the situation of the markets and opportunities that a globalized world can offer. At the same time, communication tools are activated and we develop a sectoral promotion.
The general characteristics of the sector are innovation, internationalization and constant transformation due to a high technological level. The main market trends in Spain and abroad, are marked by a change in health management to a higher comprehensive healthcare, increased incorporation of information technologies and greater decision-making power of the patient. FENIN works daily to strength the industry in every aspect, finding internationalization as one of the greatest key issues for our companies. By mid-90’s a group of companies started to work within FENIN in this regard, and it was in 1998 when the International Affairs Department was funded. Since then, both the Department and the number and figures of exporting companies haven’t ceased increasing.
The main destinations of our exports are Portugal, USA, Germany, Belgium and France. They encounter obstacles such as the increasingly intricate distribution networks, a changing regulation or the difficulty of building corporate identity.
We represent a competitive sector that stands out for its value and a distribution network that is accessible; some example of this context we can find them in the invitro diagnostic, electro medicine, ehealth or dental sector companies.
In the medium term, the field of medical technology will continue an upward trend in the the export base, thanks to an increase in the added value of their products made by the intangible services that are intrinsic to the Spanish quality.Our mission statement is to support the companies in their earlier stage of the process and also consolidate and reinforce the competitiveness of those more internationally experienced.
