Company details
Gelsenkirchener Werkstätten für angepaßte Arbeit have been established in 1967. We are a non-profit incorporated association employing and training handicapped people and providing pedagogic support to them. At the moment, 650 handicapped are employed at our facilities who are instructed and looked after by 120 specialists who are not disabled. The body responsible for Gelsenkirchener Werkstätten is Werkverein Gelsenkirchen e.V. Werkverein is a Protestant institution which is a member of Diakonisches Werk der Evangelischen Kirche von Westfalen (charitable organisation of the Protestant Church in Westphalia). The sole purpose of the incorporated association is to enable people with physical or mental disabilities to lead an independent and fulfilled life to the extent possible.
