IS-Sommer is a leading distributor of heatshrink products, wire and wire associated accessories.
Products are supplied to customers in all major market segments including Automotive Engineering, Electronics, Energy, Aviation and Military Engineering, Medical Technology as well as Aerospace. IS-Sommer is more than just a distributor, but a system supplier with a wide range of high quality services including refining products, cut and mark tubing, stranding and customer training.
Founded in 1978 as sales agency of Radiflex products, the portfolio of IS-Sommer has continuously evolved and grown and now holds long-term partnerships with world leading manufacturers such as Tyco Electronics, Zeus, Draka-Fileca, Relats, New-England Wire and Cabletec.
In 1998, privately-held Sommer GmbH (trading as IS-Sommer) became a subsidiary of Diploma PLC based in London, England.
As a result of continued investment, dedicated facilities have been built in Neuhausen, close to Stuttgart Airport, to accommodate central logistics and business management.
Together with our sister company in England we now offer the largest stock of Tyco Electronics Productsin Europe.
Continuous growth and business expansion during recent years has enabled the creation of sales offices and representatives in Munich, Berlin, Hamburg, Frankfurt, Cologne and Switzerland.
The Acquisition of Filcon GmbH in 2005 has enabled specialist knowledge in the connector field combined with considerable stock and manufacturing capability to be interwoven with IS-Sommer’s core capabilities, further enhancing the capability of being a true ‘system supplier’.
Our quality approvals include certification according to ISO9001:2000 since 2006 and as of February 2015 recertification to ISO 9001:2008.
